INTRODUCTION:

This is a precision Body method that addresses the Anchors (named by this author), also known as trigger points. They React when Released. This method follows an individualized Systematic approach--thus the name, B.A.R.R.S.

Medical literature states that 80% of diagnoses can be attributed to trigger points in the body that escape detection, which can create a myriad of symptoms and pain.

Many professionals in the health fields have not been trained to discover the hidden effects of untreated anchors on the human body.

Countless numbers of people have consulted their physicians to seek help for their unrelenting pain. They may be referred to physical therapists or pain management centers to seek an answer. From my experience, many patients have not improved, or have become even worse after such referrals. The lack of professional training in the identification and treatment of anchors may be one reason why people often fail to get well.

The treatment of shortened or stiff muscles will not be effective until the anchors are dealt with. For example, vertebrae which is adjusted cannot be expected to ‘hold’ until the anchors are addressed with a systematic protocol.

HISTORY & IMPORTANCE OF TRIGGER POINTS:

My B.A.R.R.S. Method is built upon the research by Janet Travell, M.D.(1) who had discovered trigger points and the myofascial pain syndrome. Her work provided an explanation to the origin of pain that otherwise may not have been identified. It also provided a solution for them to receive help after having tried everything else.

Her work was very impressive due to the research and concrete evidence of what trigger points do to the human body. Presidents John F. Kennedy and Lyndon B. Johnson offered Dr. Travell the position of White House Physician. She succeeded in providing pain relief to people considered by other doctors to be ‘lost causes’.

Thanks to Dr. Travell’s work, there is a peer-reviewed body of work with blinded, controlled studies that are scientifically credible. She was the pioneer in this field of trigger points.

I am pleased to say that, with the creation of my B.A.R.R.S. Method, I have taken Dr. Travell’s work to another level.

WHAT IS B.A.R.R.S.

This is a ‘new’ and unique method of addressing pain in the human body and it is one that brings results for people.

Often, doctors provide patients with a diagnosis in which the origin of the disease can be traced back to the trigger points (anchors) in the body.

It could be said that stress in its beginning form manifests as an anchor/trigger point in the body. Yet, few doctors will offer this explanation. Stress causes knots in muscles. Knots create more knots, stiffening, pain, infiltration of deeper structures, and therefore, less function for the body. When the trigger points from stress are in the body for a while, they create havoc, and finally a diagnosis of one condition or another is given. I call this process “the silent & hidden demise.”

The method I created called B.A.R.R.S. has taken many years to perfect. It has now resulted in a systematic approach in addressing what patients need in order to achieve a well-balanced spine and body--one without pain and restriction. It is an individualized system that is unique for each person.

HOW & WHY DO ANCHORS ORIGINATE IN THE BODY?

Anchors originate in the body due to many reasons. These anchors can manifest according to the type of trauma or degree of stress and overuse that occurs in the human body.

My research has identified the soft tissue accumulations and the characteristics they take on with any given body region. Whether a person incurs physical trauma, emotional trauma or ongoing variations of day to day stress, the body decodes in its own unique way as to how it exhibits these anchors.

Why does the body do this? Because whenever the body becomes subjected to physical, mental or emotional stressors, the body wants to protect itself so that it doesn’t become further harmed.

The body rushes in and infiltrates itself with these protective tissue clusters hoping to cushion itself. The term I’ve given to this is called ‘preservation’. The bad news with this is that the body has the need to ‘share’ its pain and to help it balance further, distributing these attachments into other parts of the body. This is known as referred pain. The longer these attachments remain, the more painful they become. The more your body adapts to them, more are formed in order for the body to ‘preserve’ itself.

What was originally an impact site is now an infiltration into many regions of the body. The body is very adept in allowing itself to carry these strong-holds so that it doesn’t deteriorate further.

Certain occupations can predispose people to the development of trigger points, due to day in and day out posturing.  In addition, emotional states can allow trigger points to be formed. Slips, falls and jarring contribute to trigger point formation. Divorce, grief, terminal illness and chronic conditions can alsocreate trigger point formations.

When people have been in pain for a long time, this wears on them.It creates a larger picture of more trigger points.

Just as it has been confirmed with scientific research that heart disease is prefaced by a chronic inflammatory process that takes years in the making, so it is with trigger point formations. Name almost any chronic condition, and you can bet trigger points were the initiator of the process!

Makes sense, doesn’t it? So simple in it’s concept.

WHAT DOES THE B.A.R.R.S METHOD FEEL LIKE?

This method is one of sustained tolerable pressure via a doctor’s hands and/or fingertips, ‘massaging’ circumscribed areas where needed. The treatments are rendered with gentle and compassionate contacts.

The primary anchors are then affected by a ‘degree’ of pressure and contact via my fingertips. A ‘torqued-force’ is then introduced into the body.

Some anchors are treated with a directional pressure contact…some, a sustained contact. Other contacts are ‘angled’ in various directive forces to affect the anchored tissue(s), whereas other anchors require a gentle ‘coaxing’ effect that effortlessly releases its attachment.

All of this work is very tolerable because I take into your account your threshold for any discomfort.I dedicate myself to keeping this method comfortable for you.

LOW LEVEL LASER THERAPY (LLLT):

We use the ML830® laser which is very effective in treating deep and painful trigger points. This laser uses specific wavelengths of light and it provides accurately measured doses of energy directly to the appropriate treatment site, which was not possible with other light sources. 75-80% of our patients notice an immediate improvement in their condition.

My patients can rest assured that this is a painless and comfortable healing procedure.

L.L.L.T has complemented my B.A.R.R.S. method and has been very valuable in making the difference in a patient’s response and overall healing!

CONCLUSION:

You do not have to suffer with pain! Know that you can heal...that you can heal anything. An additional  approach I use to help people is that of teaching’ my patients why the body gets ‘sick’ and what symptoms mean. I am dedicated to teach you how to teach yourself to heal.

As you embark upon your care with me, my intention is for you to understand ‘why’ your body is going through what it is. There are explanations as to why your body does what it does. Although it may have resulted in pain…the body is doing it’s best to adapt to what it has to work with.

You will be transformed! Welcome to your journey ahead into an exciting method in which you will feel the results.

I thank-you for honoring me with your care. The degree of trust that is needed to allow another to care for them is recognized by this practitioner. Please call me at (561) 392-3900 with any questions regarding how I can be of help to you.
