State-of-the-art Digital X-ray Technology
Offering significantly less exposure to radiation

In conventional radiography and mammography systems, images are created using a phosphor/film combination; with fluoroscopy, an image intensifier and TV pickup tube are used to capture images in real-time. In both cases, the images are "analog," and the signals are highly susceptible to noise and degradation – much as an LP record can skip if it’s contaminated with dust or dirt.
With digital technology, on the other hand, x-ray signals are converted into digital images at the detector itself, with the images digitized into a matrix of pixels with each pixel specifically coded. Once acquired, the image is not at all susceptible to noise. It’s analogous to the compact disks on which we now listen to music.
Our clinic offers a brand new, state of the art, Digital X-ray Machine.
The Digital X-ray System was designed especially for chiropractors. This system delivers extremely high resolution and ultra fast image acquisition, which arms forward-thinking chiropractors with multiple advantages over standard film imaging.
Digital X-ray offers tremendous clinical advantages, such as vastly superior dynamic range compared to film, and contrast resolution superior to that of Computed Radiography. Digital X-ray can simply provide better images while reducing patient exposure to radiation. Moreover, Digital X-ray images can be digitally enhanced and manipulated by sophisticated software to extract considerably more information facilitating earlier detection, more accurate diagnoses and more effective treatment. Digital images also can easily be stored and retrieved almost instantly, enhancing clinicians` ability to review images or refer them to consulting physicians.
Benefits of digital technology:
-
less x-ray dose can often be used to achieve the same high quality picture as with film
-
digital x-ray images can be enhanced and manipulated with computers
-
digital images can be sent via network to other workstations and computer monitors so that many people can share the information and assist in the diagnosis
-
digital images can be archived onto compact optical disk or digital tape drives saving tremendously on storage space and manpower needed for a traditional x-ray film library
-
digital images can be retrieved from an archive at any point in the future for reference
-
patients are given a copy of their spinal involvement via CD.
