Low Level lasers supply energy to the body in the form of non-thermal photons of light. When low level laser therapy light waves penetrate deeply into the skin, they optimize the immune responses of our blood. This has both anti-inflammatory & immunostimulating effects. Many acute & chronic conditions can be improved with laser use, including: Arthritis/Back Pain/ Carpal Tunnel Syn./Fibromyalgia/ Heel Spurs/Migraines/TMJ Pain & Dysfunction/Trigger Points/Swelling/Shoulder Pain/Knee Pain/ & many more. Dr. Connie E. Jones has been certified with the American Laser Society.
MicroLight is the exclusive manufacturer of the patented ML 830® laser and the first company to receive FDA clearance to market low-level laser therapy for the non-surgical treatment of Carpal Tunnel Syndrome.
About the President & Founder of Microlight:
Mike Barbour, founder of Microlight Corporation of American, has 27 years of experience in lasers used in medicine. From 1980 to 1990 he was founder and president of Houston Laser Institute. For 10 years he conducted surgical laser training for doctors and nurses. He introduced cold laser therapy to America and to the F.D.A. in 1990. After 12 years, two double blind studies and $4 million, he received the first F.D.A. clearance in the world for class 3-B lasers. He also holds a patent on the ML830®. Today, Microlight is the leader in education, research and product development for laser therapy.

THE HEALING POWER OF LASERS
Low Level Laser Therapy and The ML830 Cold Lasers
LLLT (low level laser therapy) is a painless, sterile noninvasive, drug-free treatment which is used to treat a variety of pain syndromes, injuries, wounds, fractures, nerological condtions and pathologies. Laser therapy can be used any time a patient requests or needs a drug-less procedure for the control of pain, when conventional therapies have been ineffective , or when the acceleration of healing from injuries is desired.
Around the world, laser therapy is rapidly becoming a medical therapy that can heal wounds and fractures up to 60% faster and also reduce the cost of treatment for many conditions. In the U.K., LLLT has become the treatment of choice for soft tissue "whiplash" injuries and for the treatment of painful post-herpetic neuralgia (shingles pain).

ML830 COLD LASER - LLLT FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
What are the two major differences between laser light and conventional light?
Laser light is monochromatic (narrow spectrum, specific wavelength) and coherent
What is LASER Light?
LASER is an acronym for Light Amplification by Stimulated Emission of Radiation.
What does radiation mean when you are speaking of Lasers?
"Radiation" is often misinterpreted since it is also used to describe radioactive materials and ionized radiation. The use of the word "radiation" in terms of laser light is merely an expression of energy transmission.
What is a joule?
A joule is a measure of energy generated by laser.
What are the biological effects of laser light emitted from LLLT devices such as the ML830™ Laser?
• Increased cell metabolism
• Simulated cell growth
• Cell regeneration
• Increased tissue activity
• Edema reduction
• Reduced fibrous tissue formation
• Stimulated nerve function
• Collagen deposition
What is the key effect LLLT has on the cell?
What is LLLT?
Low Level Laser Therapy is the new internationally accepted term for - biostimulation with low energy lasers in order to achieve therapeutic desired effects.
What is the definition of Low Level Laser Therapy (LLLT)?
Laser treatment in which energy output is low enough so that the temperature of the treated' tissue does not rise above 98.6 F- normal body temperature.
Who are the pioneers of low level laser therapy?
The first systemic scientific research on the biological effects of low level laser was conducted by the late Professor Endre Mester of the Semmelweis Medical University in Budapest, Hungary, 1966"
What are the most common laser types in LLLT?
Helium-Neon (HeNe) - visible, red
Gallium-Arsenide (GaAs) - invisible, infrared Gallium-Aluminum-Arsenide (GaAIAs) - invisible, infrared
What is the difference between HeNe (visible red) lasers and invisible, infrared lasers?
HeNe lasers penetrate the skin poorly, therefore are more suitable for superficial (skin and mucosal) lesions, superficial muscle and connective tissue injuries. Infrared lasers, such as the ML830™ Laser penetrate deeper and are suitable for both superficial and deeper lesions.
What is the wavelength of the ML830™ Laser?
What is the power level of the ML830™ Laser?
30 milliwatts x 3
What are the contra indications for LLLT?
Patients with pacemakers, pregnancy, labile epilepsy, and cancer.

Dr. Jones has had phenomenal success with many conditions due to the use of the ML830. The most chronic of conditions respond.
She prides herself on receiving the toughest of cases...the last resorts...and those who thought they had given up. The response that the patient has had with this light wavelength of technology speaks for itself.
If you are in need of those patients who are under laser therapy or have completed their course of care, please inquire with her office. She will be most happy to accomodate you in speaking with a patient who has volunteered their willingness to help others.
We look forward to helping you!

Shines Light on Healing
Doctors at the Medical College of Wisconsin in Milwaukee have discovered the healing power of light with the help of technology developed for NASA's Space Shuttle. Using powerful light-emitting diodes, or LEDs, originally designed for commercial plant growth research in space, scientists have found a way to help patients here on Earth.
Doctors are examining how this special lighting technology helps hard-to-heal wounds, such as diabetic skin ulcers, serious burns, and severe oral sores caused by chemotherapy and radiation. The project includes laboratory and human trials, approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration and funded by a NASA Small Business Innovation Research contract through the Technology Transfer Department at NASA’s Marshall Space Flight Center in Huntsville, Ala.
"So far, what we've seen in patients and what we've seen in laboratory cell cultures, all point to one conclusion," said Dr. Harry Whelan, professor of pediatric neurology and director of hyperbaric medicine at the Medical College of Wisconsin. "The near-infrared light emitted by these LEDs seems to be perfect for increasing energy inside cells. This means whether you're on Earth in a hospital, working in a submarine under the sea or on your way to Mars inside a spaceship, the LEDs boost energy to the cells and accelerate healing." In the laboratory, Whelan and his team have shown that skin and muscle cells grown in cultures and exposed to the LED infrared light grow 150 to 200 percent faster than ground control cultures not stimulated by the light. Scientists are trying to learn how cells convert light into energy, and identify which wavelengths of light are most effective at stimulating growth in different kinds of cells.
To expand the wound healing study, Whelan -- a commander and diving medical officer in the U.S. Navy reserve assigned to Naval Special Warfare Command (Naval Special Warfare Naval Special Warfare Command (Naval Special Warfare Group TWO) -- is working with doctors at Navy Special Warfare Command centers in Norfolk, Va., and San Diego, Calif. They reported a 40 percent improvement in patients who had musculoskeletal training injuries treated with the light-emitting diodes.
